I am SO looking forward to reading this book.  I am getting it next week.This means I will be finishing this book this week.
What is remarkable about watching the series and reading the book in tandem  is that you realize how much liberty was taken with his life.  If I didn't do anything else but watch the series, I would assume that  Mr. Adams was a depressed grumpy annoying self-important narcissist.

In truth he was held in extra-ordinarily high regard by his peers, and was front and center in many of the decisions made.  Case in point:  In the third episode, The story leaves him stranded in Europe and floundering.  In fact, he came back to Massachusetts wrote their constitution.  What makes this remarkable is that this constitution was later used as the model for the Federal constitution.

That's right: In a year off from Europe, John Adams came home and modeled our government.  That, however, doesn't fit the narrative the producers wanted to portray.
